![]() ![]() Once you have a battery of other virtual instruments then spending another $500 ($660 AU dollars BTW!!) just seems like less and less of a good idea. I have some other synths for example that produce sounds that Omnisphere could not even dream of doing too. There are many sounds Omnisphere do not cover well or at all. It's definitely worth the money, even if it's the only one you own. The presets alone will give you any sound you could possibly want. I really wish Spectrasonics would make the Omnisphere purchase available in a modular fashion, like selling the core synth with a basic factory sound collection, and then allowing the customer to expand it with the full presets by buying a bank at a time.Įph221 I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU MEN! Omnisphere is in a class by itself. Next up I would really like to add a few u-he synths, including the Zebra! I will probably acquire Omnisphere someday, when the budget allows, because I certainly would like to try it out. ![]() My favorites synths right now are the SynthMasters, IK Syntronik, and iZotope Iris 2. But I have surely spent more than that collectively on other virtual instruments, and I now have many to choose from, and stack together like a synth rack to create unusual multi combinations. The last time I did that was for Photoshop almost 20 years ago. But the idea of paying $500 for software in one shot is what has held me up. I never doubted that Omnisphere is as good as they say. Yep, Omnisphere is an absolute must-buy but quite expensive, while SynthMaster will get you high quality at a crazily low price. When you purchase between 5-9 preset banks, the following coupon will automatically be applied: EXP5PACK, and you will save 10% These expansions are listed at $8 each right now, but are actually $6.75 each when you put 5+ in the shopping cart at KV331. Recommend listening to the Soundcloud demo links for these banks and see which you prefer. And Nori really nails the the classic synth sounds used on many recordings. Big Tone is very creative with use of mod wheel, pitch bend, and velocity, so his patches are very playable. al.□įor SM expansions, definitely the 'Historic Synth Giants vol 1-4' (cool classic synth stuff) and 'Art Rock Basics' (some cool Mellotron stuff) from Nori Ubukati, and the ' Analog Basics' (Jarre and Vangelis, etc.) and ' Big Tone Signature Sounds' from Big Tone. ‘Still haven’t gotten Omnisphere 2 out of my mind though.□ I really like Trillian so Omnisphere 2 is calling my name.al.al. ![]() Are there any “expansion” packs you folks would recommend? So, I pulled the trigger on SynthMaster.$79 from Sweetwater. ![]()
